But now Paddy Bever has confirmed he has left the cobbles for good as Max Turner.
The actor (22) has already filmed his last scenes in the role of David Platt’s son.
In a statement, he said: “After much thought and an incredibly difficult decision, I have decided to step away from Max and Coronation Street to explore new opportunities.
“I was surrounded by such kindness and support every step of the way.”

He continued to The Mirror: “It has been a great privilege to contribute to the legacy of such a beloved and iconic series.
“This chapter has been unforgettable and as I look forward to what lies ahead, I will cherish these memories.”
Coronation Street can expect to see Paddy’s final scenes as Max early this spring.
A source close to the ITV soap said Paddy has told bosses he will not be renewing his current contract when it expires.
The young actor filmed his last scenes at the end of last year.
Coronation Street star Charlie Lawson says actors are underpaid
They were planning a big exit story for him that would involve the Platt family in dramatic scenes.
His departure comes after five stars – Charlotte Jordan, Sue Cleaver, Sue Devaney, Colson Smith and Luca Toolan – announced they were leaving or were being written out from November 2024.
However, any departure would be decided in the last six to 12 months, which is common for soap operas.
Corrie cash crunch: shock release for 2025
ITV bosses are involved in a battle to save the cash-strapped soap.
This means that a number of stars have either been kicked out or have left the long-running serial drama.
Colson Smith – Craig Tinker
Bosses have ditched Craig Tinker’s character after 14 years. After being told the news in the fall of 2024, Colson Smith confirmed that it would be dropped from the series with scenes to air later this year. Craig’s on-screen mother, Beth Tinker, also left the series in the summer when actress Lisa George was written out of the role.
Sue Cleaver – Eileen Grimshaw
After 25 years of playing Eileen Grimshaw, former I’m A Celebrity co-star Sue Cleaver is to leave the show. The Sun on Sunday reported in January that she had already started filming her exit scenes. However, the character will not be killed in case Sue decides to return in the future.
Luca Toolan – Mason Radcliffe
Bosses have decided to ax the teenage character after just 16 months after he first joined the series. Recent scenes saw Mason stabbed by his criminal brothers after his friend Dylan brought a knife in an attempt to defend him.
Sue Devaney – Debbie Webster
In November 2024, we revealed that Debbie Webster would be killed off after 40 years on the cobblestones. The character will die as part of a long-running heartbreaking story about dementia.
Charlotte Jordan – Daisy Midgeley
The actress has become the fifth star to leave Coronation Street in just one month. We revealed she will be leaving the ITV soap later this year after four years on screen. Charlotte told sources she is hungry to see what other opportunities await.
Shelley King – Yasmeen Metcalfe
The actress has played Yasmeen Metcalfe on the cobbles for the past 11 years, and we revealed in January that she had finished filming her final scenes. This followed the departure of her on-screen partner Stu Carpenter.
