Craig Melvin and Lindsay Czarniak Give Their Family’s Puppy His First Bath — Watch!

Myles Copper Melvin soaks up the soap.

TODAY co-host Craig Melvin and his wife, sports reporter Lindsay Czarniak, celebrated the holidays with a new pup last month, and in a video they shared with PEOPLE, the furry new addition gets his first bath.

The couple’s children, Delano, 9, and Sybil, 7, also joined in Myles’ milestone, while the Irish pooch was stuffed.

Craig Melvin reveals his family welcomed a new puppy as part of their Christmas celebrations

Melvin and his family picked up Myles in Virginia on December 30th. On an episode of the morning show in early January, he said the dog’s name was a nod to Spider-Man’s Miles Morales and that Sybil chose the middle name. the couple surprised their children with dog toys and bowls wrapped under a pine tree on Christmas morning, before discovering they were getting a puppy.

“It’s been a magical couple of days,” Melvin said on the show, adding, “He’s a great unifier.”

Melvin and Czarniak shared a joint Instagram post with a video of Delano and Sybil meeting Myles for the first time.

The couple captioned the post: “Starting the year off by welcoming our newest family member. Meet Myles. We’re already smitten❤️ #love #puppy #family #dog.”

On TODAY, Melvin noted how Myles’ presence in his home helped ease the tension. When Sheinelle Jones asked if Melvin’s family was “all his [Myles’] face,” noted that they “need to give Myles some space.”

“And my wife, Lindsay, is just as bad as the kids,” he continued, saying he tells his family to let Myles “walk around” a bit without getting in the way.

Jones then predicted, “I feel like I’ll be seeing you with Myles a lot,” to which Al Roker replied, “Right. Oh god, no, you know that.”
