Curtis Stone and Lindsay Price recall their romantic engagement in Italy.
In an exclusive clip from the Feb. 11 episode of Stone’s HSN+ podcast Grilling with Curtis Stone, the Australian prince, 48, and the American actress, 47 — who got engaged in July 2012 — share their thoughts and feelings about how the proposal went down. At the time, Price admits that while she knew Stone was taking her on a romantic trip, she had no idea the proposal was happening.
“I come from a really traditional family and I wanted to get engaged a lot earlier than we actually did,” she says. “But I’m glad you took your time because from the time we met in January to the same time next year when we bought the house, everything was so fast.”
Price continues, “I think the fact that you waited meant, for both of us, that you had the foresight to say, ‘I want her to know that we really thought about this.’ ”
Stone, who has two children with Price, Emerson, 8, and Hudson, 11, adds: “I was such a bloody nervous man.”

Elsewhere in the podcast, Stone makes his wife cry tears of joy when he serves her the same whiskey chocolate mousse he served her when she first came to his house. As the chef recounts the story, Price says, “To be honest, this is the moment I knew you were the one.”
“It’s not just because it was delicious,” she adds. “It was because you saw that I liked the whiskey, you thought of me beforehand and then you made this that tasted… like a fantastic, delicious… dream dessert.”
Stone then presents the same dessert to an overwhelmed Price. “I’m just going to eat until I stop crying,” she says.
The couple, who started dating in 2009, officially met in June 2013 in Spain at the Hilton Sa Torre Mallorca Resort.
“Delighted to bits!” wrote the Australian woman after the wedding with the photo on X (then known as Twitter). “To everyone out there, THANK YOU for all your love and support! It was so special to share our big day with family and a small group of friends in Mallorca.”

In December 2023, Curtis and Stone opened up to PEOPLE about their family’s holiday traditions — including why they usually don’t get invited anywhere.
“The truth is, we never really get invited anywhere because nobody wants to cook for a Michelin-starred chef,” Stone told PEOPLE with a laugh. “So we’re like, ‘Well, let’s do it ourselves.’ And we really enjoyed it because it’s something we enjoy doing together and I think it’s good.”
