Staffordshire Police attended Elm Road in Norton Canes but Louis, who was seriously injured, died at the scene after suffering a cardiac arrest.

A 33-year-old woman was arrested and taken into custody on suspicion of murder.

Louis lived with his parents in the quiet village of Norton Canes where he reportedly worked front of house at the local Toby Carvery.

He has a daughter with an “on-off” partner, whom the locals call Kirsty Cribb, and who is said to be a loving parent.

The heartbreaking news was delivered to Louis’ devastated parents, Graham and Eleanor Price, as they relaxed on a trip abroad.

A shocked neighbor told the Daily Mail: “His poor parents were on holiday when it happened, they usually go to the Maldives for Christmas and they might have been there.

“They will be absolutely devastated and my heart goes out to them.

“I can’t imagine anything worse than being abroad on holiday and finding out your child has been murdered in the family home, and on Christmas Day.”

Police were called to reports of a man in his 30s in cardiac arrest on Elm Road, Norton Canes at around 3.25am.

Unfortunately, despite the efforts of emergency services at the scene of the accident, he died soon after.

Heartfelt tributes to dad have been inundated, with many expressing their condolences on social media.

One wrote: “RIP Louis taken too soon.”

Another posted on Facebook: “Rest Louis you will be forever missed, thoughts and love go out to all your family.”

A friend, reacting to the news, added: “Rip Louis was taken too young, rest in peace my friend.”

Staffordshire Police said in a statement that the man’s next of kin had been informed and that they were now being assisted by specially trained officers.

It said: “A woman has been arrested after we launched an investigation into the death of a man at a house in Norton Canes.

“A 33-year-old woman from Cannock has been arrested on suspicion of murder and is in custody.

“Pending the investigation, the location remains at the address and is expected to remain for several days.”

To help determine the cause of death, an autopsy is scheduled for Christmas Day morning.

The investigation is expected to last several days.

Investigators appeal for information and ask citizens to contact them via phone 101 or the Public portal for major incidents if they can help.
