Dakota Fanning takes a trip down memory lane with her sister Elle Fanning!
Dakota, who recently celebrated her 30th birthday, appeared on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon Monday to discuss his recent birthday and upcoming Netflix series Ripley. During his interview, Jimmy Fallon showed a throwback home video of Dakota and Ella, 25, as kids getting ready for Halloween one year.
Dakota could be seen holding her hands to her face and laughing as the video played; it shows her and Elle, then a toddler, putting on makeup while Dakota grabs an eyebrow tool from her little sister.
“Hey, that’s my stuff. I have to do my eyebrows,” Dakota Elle, who is dressed as a clown in the video, tells Elle. “What is that?” Elle asks about the tool, to which Dakota replies, “That’s for your eyebrows and you can’t use it. Put the wig back!”
“It’s so sad! It’s so sad! I actually remember that moment, but I don’t remember being so bossy and mean,” Fallon, 49, said after watching the home video.

“That’s my thing: I’ll tell my family, ‘I don’t know what the problem is, I’m super relaxed, I’m super casual,'” she joked. “And everybody’s like, ‘That’s not true.’ ”

Elle shared an adorable tribute to her older sister in celebration of Dakota’s birthday on February 23, writing alongside several photos she shared on Instagram that Dakota has “dreamed of turning 30 since she was a teenager.”
“On February 23, 1994, the world became brighter and more beautiful,” Elle wrote in the description of her post. “I could sit and listen to you talk for hours, in fact it’s my favorite place…absorbing your advice, your fascinating worldview (things that DO and DON’T ‘interest’) I’ve always felt safest with you by my side.”

Dakota expanded on Elle’s comment about her dreams of turning 30 Tonight’s showtelling Fallon that she “always rounded my age” in response to her and Elle’s mother, Hannah Joy Arrington.
“I always tell her, ‘Mom, I’m almost 30 years old, you can’t be walking in my bedroom at three in the morning because I could be doing all sorts of things in here,'” she explained after noting that her mother would “call 100 times” and visit is home if she doesn’t answer her phone.
“I’ve been saying that for my entire 20 years,” she added. “And now I’m like, ‘Oh God, I’m a 30-year-old woman, so now I have to say ‘I’m almost a 35-year-old woman’ the next time he does that.”
