Dakota Fanning’s Elegant Outfit Had These 3 Flattering Staples Everyone Needs in Their Closet

It’s not every day you see a photo of an A-lister on the red carpet and think, “Hey, I could wear that.” Usually the fashion on the red carpet is flashy (and I love it for that), but not every event is Cannes — sometimes it’s just Tribeca.

Dakota Fanning wore a simple yet elegant look at the premiere Mastermind: Thinking like a killer during the Tribeca Festival in New York, and I want to copy it piece by piece for when I need to be put together (I also just want these pieces in my closet for everyday styling).

On top of that, she wore a flattering ivory satin fabric top that I could easily wear with jeans and boots in the fall. I paired the timeless blouse with an equally classic black midi skirt, which I would wear with a simple white tank top in the summer heat. The length of the skirt was perfect for showing off her cross strap sandals, a style I love because there’s no way I’m going to get a blister on my ankle (the worst!).
