Damar Hamlin Has ‘No Fear’ as He's 'Enjoying This Second Chance in Life' After 2023 Cardiac Arrest (Exclusive)

Two years after collapsing on the field during the match against Cincinnati Bengals, Damar Hamlin is proud of how much he has arrived.

Buffalo Bills Security, 26, is in New Orleans on the eve of the Super Bowla 2025 and stopped by Siriusxm set up in Media Row. There he opened up to people about how he feels “amazing”. Hamlin, who returned to the field seven months after the incident on January 2, 2023, added that he knew how happy he was.

“All in all, I just feel like I enjoy this other chance in my life,” he says. “I am urgently with that … and I recommend everyone to do the same. Everyone should give a second chance when they have the opportunity and if you get it, man, use what you make to maximize because they are not easy to come.”

Hamlin explains that the incident – which doctors say was caused by Commotio Cordis – not only changed his view of life, but also led him to “growing up”.

“I think I changed for the better, I had to overcome fear, overcoming anxiety, doubt – I learned a lot about myself,” he says. “I learned how powerful I was, how strong I was, I learned that I could do whatever I wanted to do if I decided on that.”

And now that he hits the field blue and red, he cannot be afraid at all, “partly because of the space he gave him to move on how to move forward.

“With that time, I created a little more hunger in me. I have always believed in myself, I knew what I was able to, so hunger, that time, along with just the belief that everything I was able to achieve this year,” he says . “I still feel so much more room for growth, this is my favorite part at the moment – I still feel like I’m not on the ceiling yet.”

In addition to returning to the game, Hamlin also dedicated his time to the partnership with Abbott through their Heartmates program, who influenced others on the cardiovascular condition of the community to share their experiences.

“We were able to do some drugs with cardiac colleagues,” Hamlin says, explaining that they recently made it easier for a ridiculed draft in New York, where participants came to sign a “contract” to officially be part of the program.

And although the accounts have failed in the big game this year, Hamlin says he is proud of the work he has invested in this season.

“I’m super proud of myself, like, tapping on the back,” he says, reaching over his shoulder. “I give myself one of those last week and a half since the end of the season.”

When asked if he takes any energy from the last Bills game in the season – the loss of Kansas City bosses, which ultimately cost them their place in Super Bowl – Hamlin admits that she has played a small role in his decision on who roots root for.

“I want Eagles to win – I’ll put it outside,” he says. “Because I want to continue [Barkley] To get a super bowl. I want the yalen it hurts to get a super bowl. I think what they did this year was top -notch. ”
