“Dance Monsters” Season 1 Is Set To Be Released On Netflix

The first three episodes of Netflix’s Dance Monsters will be published concurrently on Friday, December 16, 2022, at 3:01 a.m. ET. The following three episodes will be posted on Friday, December 23, 2022, and the last three episodes will be released at 03:01 a.m. ET on Friday, December 30, 2022.

Ashley Roberts of The Pussycat Dolls will host the show, which will be evaluated by musician Ne-Yo, YouTuber Lele Pons, and choreographer Ashley Banjo. It will feature 15 amateur dancers participating in an epic dance war, with their faces hidden until they are eliminated.

 Dance Monsters’s premise & Rules

The show’s 15 dancers will be replaced with computer-generated animals. The judges and audience will only witness a monster-like creature dancing on their screens, mirroring the actions of actual dancers performing off-camera, thanks to CGI effects. Throughout the nine episodes, audiences will learn more about actual dancers, their lives, hardships, and hurdles to professional dancing. As a result, the dancers are reluctant to appear in front of the cameras. Fans will only discover the true identities of the participants once they have been eliminated.

To win $250,000 and the title of Ultimate Dance Monster, the candidates will have to go through five rounds of solo dances, duets, and one-on-one dance fights. The victor will also have the option to pursue a career as a professional dancer.

Dance Monsters competition structure

Round 1 will see the participants separated into three heats, each with five CGI monsters. The five monsters will perform alone first, and three dancers will advance to the following round. The lowest two will compete in a dance-off, with just one advancing to the second round. After disclosing their identities, the three eliminated dancers will be sent home.

In Round 2, the CGI monsters will be split into six-person teams. Following a solo performance, one competitor from each team will be eliminated. Following this, the lowest 2 artists in the solo-performance round will next proceed to a dance-off duel. Each team’s dancer with the lowest score will be removed. Only eight Dance Monsters contenders will advance to the quarterfinals, where they will compete in two-person teams. Following their performance, four monsters face elimination and must preserve their position in a 30-second solo freestyle fight. Two will be eliminated, while six will advance to the semifinals.

In the 4th round, the surviving contenders will have to win their position in the finals exclusively via solo performances. Only four CGI creatures with unknown identities will make it to the conclusion. After a solo performance, two of the finalists will be eliminated, and the remaining two will participate in a dance-off battle for the Ultimate Dance Monster title.
