Dancing on the ice star Mark Hanretty officially lowered his skates and left the show.
The professional slider bowed after 12 series’ and told fans that “the end of one era”.

In an emotional message, Mark shared a clip from last weekend Dancing on Ice Final.
The recording showed that Mark and his famous partner Michael Strachan spoke after they finished second in this year’s competition.
Mark wrote in addition, “End of era for me!
“So grateful to all people in front of and behind the camera who have done me that joy for 12 seasons for 12 seasons! Very grateful!”

The fans quickly sent messages of happiness, and at the same time shared how much they miss.
One wrote, “Good luck with what follows. You will miss. You will not be the same without you.”
Another added: “You will be missed a lot on #dancingice Mark. You weren’t just the best professional who was enchanted to watch on the screen, but also a nice person to all your partners. It won’t be the same without you and will miss me to see you.”
And the third said, “I was so happy that you had to skate Bolero for your last show with Doi, all the best for your next adventure. Dancing on ice will just not be quite the same without you.”
Last October, Mark confirmed that after the 2025 series, he would worship from a dancing on the ice.
The star of born in Scothight did not give a reason to leave.

Mark said, “It’s hard to believe I’m going to my 12th series Dance on Ice.
“I am excited as always and so grateful for the chance to work once again on the biggest ice show.
“This will be my last year as a slider and I’m eager to ask every second!”
Mark started skating in 1995 and continued to represent the UK in sports.
He joined the dance at Ice’s professional team in 2011, but was forced to sit in 2014 due to an injury.
The ITV show was then resting for several years before returning to the 2018 screens.
Mark has never been able to win the show, although in third place with the partners of the famous Kimberly Wyatt and Adele Roberts.

He saw some impressive moves – and equally impressive downstairs.
The ITV show lasted 16 seasons, with interruption from 2014 to 2018.

This year he was his best so far, he finished second with Telly Star Michael. The couple lost to the Coronation Street star Sam Aston and his partner Molly Lanaghan.
Once the results were discovered, Mark said, “I want to thank Michaeli and everyone.
“There are so many people you don’t see who make this an amazing show.”
Pointing to Michael, he added, “So thank you and all of them!”
