Stephen’s place on the show was revealed earlier this month.
The popular reality star and hairdresser was announced on Lorraine, just weeks after leaving Gogglebox.
He said: “I’m really excited, really nervous. I just want to get on with it now.”
Stephen, who called Dancing On Ice “one of the biggest challenges on TV”, said he hadn’t skated properly since he was 13 but managed to avoid a fall after returning to the ice recently.
Unfortunately, it didn’t stay that way.
MailOnline reported the TV favorite suffered a “freak accident” in training this week.
He was rushed to Queen Alexandra Hospital in Portsmouth where he was told he had broken his left ankle.
The publication reports that Stephen has been told he will be on crutches for “at least the next three months”.
A source told them: “Stephen is devastated… he’s completely devastated.
“He loved training, but while turning his skates he broke his ankle and was rushed to the hospital.
“After two days and an operation to put metal plates in his left ankle, the doctors informed him that he had no chance of returning to training, so he had no choice but to give up the competition.”
A spokesperson for Dancing on Ice confirmed the news and said: “Stephen Lustig-Webb has had to withdraw from the show due to an ankle injury sustained during training.
“He is still part of the Dancing On Ice family, we will be helping to support Stephen and we wish him a good recovery.”
Meanwhile, Stephen has transformed his body over the past eight months after learning he had very low testosterone levels.
He was also training for the London Marathon next year.
