Daniel Craig reveals he wrote own lines for heavily criticised Bond film

DANIEL Craig says heavily criticized Bond film Quantum Of Solace fell short because the script wasn’t ready when filming started – and he ended up writing a large part of the film.

The film was Craig’s second appearance as 007 after Casino Royale, and the script was delayed due to a strike by the Writers Guild of America (WGA).

Craig said: “Difficult second album — a fucking nightmare.

“Paul Haggis submitted the script.

“Then he left and joined the column, and we had no writers.

“We should never have started production.

“I ended up writing a lot of the movie, which I probably shouldn’t say.”

He added on the Awards Chatter podcast: “It has some amazing stunt sequences in it, but it just didn’t quite work.

“The storytelling wasn’t there.

“It’s a lesson – starting a movie without a script is not a good idea.”

The film was affected by the WGA strike that lasted from November 2007 to February 2008.

It starred Olga Kurylenko as Camille, Judi Dench as M and Gemma Arterton as Strawberry Fields.

Craig appeared five times as 007.

The British actor took over the role from Pierce Brosnan, and released his first film – Casino Royale – in 2006.

Quantum Of Solace followed in 2008, the first film not based on an Ian Fleming novel.
