According to the Daily Star, he stated that the episodes he had on set prevented him from achieving anything, even tying his shoes. He was upset after being diagnosed with dyspraxia, a persistent neurological condition, in 2008 and turned to drink to cope, he claimed. Radcliffe previously stated that while he came to work drunk, he never drank on the job. Daniel Jacob Radcliffe was born on July 23, 1989, at Queen Charlotte’s and Chelsea Hospital in Hammersmith, London, England, to literary agent Alan George Radcliffe and Marcia Jeannine Gresham. His Jewish mother was born in South Africa and raised in the village of Westcliff-on-Sea in Essex. He has Jewish ancestors from Germany, Lithuania, Poland and Russia. His Northern Irish father was brought up in a “very working-class” Protestant home in Banbridge, County Down.
In 2019, he examined both sides of his family history for the BBC genealogy show Who Do You Think You Are? Radcliffe’s parents acted like children. His mother was a casting director for BBC programs including The Mysteries of Inspector Lynley.
