Danielle Brooks’ 2024 SAG Awards Dress Is Part Gown, Part Tux and All Sass

Danielle Brooks performed in a spectacular ensemble at the 2024 SAG Awards.

The 34-year-old actress arrived in a Christian Siriano design that was part tuxedo, part dress and part purple. The dress half of Brooks’ look featured an ombre purple hemline, which appeared to be a tribute to her film Purple.

Brooks wore $120 ALDO open-toe heels, Kendra Scott jewels and some special sparkle from her husband, Dennis Gelino, Brooks revealed while speaking to Laverne Cox on the red carpet at E!’s show.

Tonight, Brooks is nominated for Outstanding Performance by an Actress in a Supporting Role for her work in Purple, produced by Oprah Winfrey. Her role as Sofia in the film musical made her an awards season regular this year, and in March she will be in contention for an Oscar for her memorable performance.

In January, she reacted to being nominated for an EGOT thanks to her Oscar nomination for Best Supporting Actress. She was previously nominated for Emmy Awards in 2021 and 2023, a Grammy Award in 2017 (which she won!) and a Tony Award in 2016.

When a fan on Xu, formerly known as Twitter, noticed her impressive list of award nominations, Brooks he shared the post again and wrote “somebody got it” with a winking face emoticon.

The very successful actress has been busy with promotions Purple and has been making the rounds on the awards circuit since last October — and through it all, she’s shown off her incredible fashion sense. On October 12, she wore a bold purple dress with a turtleneck and a fun print in honor of the film at the Ghetto Film School’s fall benefit event.

In December, Brooks rocked another purple ensemble at the film’s premiere in Los Angeles. The star walked the carpet wearing an amethyst hooded dress with a thigh-high slit and silver sandals.

In recent times, Peacemaker actress put her own spin on ballet at the 2024 Critics Choice Awards Brooks wowed in a voluminous pink tulle Monsoori gown accented with a black bow. The stunning dress allowed the actress to create a perfect red carpet moment as she tossed the tulle in the air to show off its full volume.

The 30th Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards will be broadcast live on Netflix on Saturday, February 24, at 8:00 PM ET, from the Shrine Auditorium & Expo Hall in Los Angeles.
