The actress (34), who is also the mother of daughter Freeya (4) with her husband Dennis Gelina, first saw the item on Instagram and then bought it on Amazon. “This carry-on is also a scooter,” she tells PEOPLE in this week’s issue.
“So my daughter can run around the airport. And I’m so happy because my husband is traveling alone with her, so I feel like I’ve properly prepared him for the trip. I feel like I should win Mom of the Year.”

Danielle Brooks on postpartum depression: ‘I felt like my whole world turned upside down’
Brooks, who stars in the new movie musical Purplespoke to the magazine for One Last Thing:
One last superstition There’s this one that says if you put your purse on the floor you’ll lose money, so I don’t put purses on the floor. I will find a hook, a chair, a table. I think mentally, “I have no reason to lose money.”

The last time I had my mother’s brain, I can’t keep up with my schedule. The other day I had to ask the driver, “Ma’am, what is today? Is it Saturday?” and she said, “No, it’s Tuesday.”

My daughter made me laugh last time. She goes to tennis lessons, and the coach said, “If you can’t come, we’ll give you make-up lessons.” My daughter says in front of everyone, “My mom has makeup on.” We all just started laughing.
Last wardrobe malfunction. At the Black Excellence Luncheon, I wore this dress that was corseted in the back and started to lose its shape. I was on the carpet, and the stylist dragged me into the bathroom to set it. I was nervous about my girls greeting the world.
Purple now playing in cinemas.
