Danielle Savre and Kevin McKidd: All About the Actors' Romance

Kevin McKidd and Danielle Savre both appear on shows produced by Shonda Rhimes.

The couple has been dating since at least June 2023 when they were photographed together in Italy. They eventually made their red carpet debut in November 2023 at the Global Down Syndrome Foundation’s 15th Annual Be Beautiful Be Yourself Fashion Show.

Two months later, the couple attended the Walt Disney Company’s 2023 Emmy Awards, where McKidd opened up to PEOPLE about her relationship with Savre, saying, “I feel happy on so many levels in my life right now.”

He also told PEOPLE that his real-life relationship with Shonda Rhimes — in which he stars Grey’s Anatomy while Savre stars in the spinoff Station 19 — “it just happened.”

McKidd was cast in the Rhimes series Grey’s Anatomy 2008 as Dr. Owen Hunt, United States Army trauma surgeon. His character became the love interest of Dr. Cristina Yang Sandra Oh, and the pair struggled with his war-related PTSD. In the years that followed, Hunt and Yang divorced, Oh left the show, and Hunt began dating and later married Dr. Teddy Altman, his good friend and fellow veteran.

Savre was a member of the cast of the series Rhimes and Grey’s spinoff Station 19 from the premiere in 2018. Five years later, after directing an episode of the series, she said to Phosphorus magazine that playing her character, Maya Bishop, was a huge journey.

Before dating Savre, McKidd was married twice. The Grey’s Anatomy the star and his 17-year-younger wife, Jane Parker, divorced in 2017. They are the parents of two children, Iona and Joseph. McKidd and his second wife, Arielle Goldrath, also had two children, a son named Aiden and a daughter named Nava. The couple announced they were separating in July 2022, and the divorce was finalized 11 months later.

They like to travel together

McKidd and Savre have been traveling a lot since they started dating. In addition to the trip to Italy in early June 2023, they also traveled to Zambia, Scotland, the Dominican Republic and Greece.

The Train spotting the actor took to Instagram to share photos and videos from their Caribbean vacation in August 2023. “Family, fun, sun and lots of laughs! What an amazing family vacation!” he wrote in the title.

McKidd said he was “happy” to have Savre

McKidd has been open about his love for Savre and how much he admires her.

While attending the 2023 Walt Disney Company Emmy Awards in Los Angeles, he told PEOPLE, “Everything is great. We’re really happy, and she’s an amazing human being, so I feel lucky on so many levels in my life right now.”
