RUSS BRAY has announced that he will end his full-time refereeing career after the PDC World Darts Championship.
The darts legend confirmed the shocking news just weeks before the start of the tournament at Alexandra Palace.

Russ will take on a new role as a PDC ambassador in 2024 and will continue to referee on the World Cup stage.

He is set to take on a new role as PDC ambassador in 2024.
The PDC have also confirmed that Bray will continue to referee on the World Cup stage after the World Cup final.
In a video he shared on social media, Bray said: “In 30 years, I’m now on the age pension.
“We’ve got some excellent young people coming through so, for me personally, I think now is the time to turn around and say ‘let the youngsters come through’.
“I’ve had a magnificent career so far and I hope I can continue in the background.”
Bray became a fan favorite during his career in darts, with his iconic voice and “180” shouts synonymous with the sport.
The 66-year-old has been calling the PDC since 1996 and has since become the “Voice” of darts.
Before his refereeing career, he was a county player, and started as a player when the regular referee did not turn up for a match.

The 2024 PDC World Darts Championship is just three weeks away, with action starting on December 15.
Michael Smith is looking to defend his title in London and hopes to appear in the final on January 3.
