David Beckham has “a lot to look forward to” in 2024!

The internationally loved former soccer star, 48, is celebrating two big milestones this year, as 2024 marks the 25th anniversary of his wedding to wife Victoria Beckham and Manchester United’s treble of Premier League, FA Cup and UEFA Champions League wins.

“I personally am also looking forward to celebrating — it will be 25 years since Manchester United won the treble — including the Champions League of course! — and Victoria and I will also be celebrating our 25th wedding anniversary,” Beckham tells PEOPLE exclusively. “So much to look forward to!”

The father-of-three says he is also looking forward to a “great year and summer of sport”, noting “the Champions League final at Wembley Stadium, the men’s Euros in Germany, the Copa America and the Paris Olympics.”

“I hope to be able to see as much live sport as possible – it’s always really special to support English football and Team GB,” says Beckham. “I am also very excited that the new MLS season is about to start, for my team Inter Miami. As a team we are working hard to build on the success of the 2023 season after last year’s League Cup victory.”

As he looks back on the milestones, Beckham says he was delighted to be able to team up with his former rival, Thierry Henry. Beckham and Henry, 46, famously competed against each other as league stars before retiring from the sport.

The reunion of Henry and Beckham is in support of the new campaign, No game, no game 2024, rewarding matchday-ready fans with Lay’s crisps, the official snack partner of the UEFA Champions League (UCL), throughout the tournament.

Beckham and Henry filmed a promotional video for the campaign in front of 75,000 fans at the San Siro stadium during the UEFA Champions League season between AC Milan and PSG.

The ad shows the duo just before kick-off, as Beckham reveals that Henry has eaten all of his Lay’s crisps. To solve the problem, the two put out a call via Lay’s “Chip Cam” — a spin on the traditional kiss cam — to scour the audience for Lay’s. Two lucky fans, a father and daughter, were found with the chips and invited to watch the game with the iconic football stars.

Beckham says he “loved being back at the San Siro” and was excited to “work with Thierry in this whole new way” for the campaign. “The energy in the stadium was amazing and the fans were so welcoming. We only had about 5 minutes to film the stunt live, so it was a lot of pressure to find fans in the crowd who were carrying Lay’s with them,” he explains. .

“It was so funny for Thierry and I to see the different ways the fans embraced being on the jumbotron while we were on the hunt for Lay’s – it was great to see them so engaged.”

And despite the two having “a huge rivalry on the pitch”, Beckham says: “We’ve remained friends and it’s been fun to see each other take on new projects and support each other.”

It’s hard for Beckham to single out just one memory that stands out during his playing career, but a certain victory will “always be incredibly special” to him.

“I have so many amazing memories of the Champions League,” Beckham begins, “with Manchester United, 1999 will always be incredibly special as we won the Treble, something no other club had done before.”

Beckham continued: “I can’t believe it’s been 25 years this year. I remember that final so clearly it gives me goosebumps when I think about it now. To win the Champions League with the group of players I grew up with — it doesn’t get much better than that. ”
