David Beckham Reflected on His ‘Love’ for His 88 Tattoos in Cut Scene from Doc, Director Says

David Beckham gets candid about his ink. Although, he’s not quite sure how many there are.

Netflix documentary series, Beckham, delved into several parts of the former football player’s life — with the exception of his love of tattoos, which director Fisher Stevens addressed in a cut scene.

“Well you guys can see his tattoos. We had a moment about tattoos that unfortunately we couldn’t fit into,” Stevens recalled. “At the time I said, ‘How many tattoos do you have?’ He said, ‘I’m 88.'”

He continued. “I said, ‘You know right?’ He said, ‘I think I’m 88.’ ”

However, during the filming of the documentary, Stevens said they discovered that Beckham had at least “six” more tattoos that he did not include in his initial count.

“And I said, ‘Why David?'” the director recalled when asked about the reason behind the ink. “And he said, ‘I just like them.’ I say, ‘Is there some form of self-torture?’ And he said, ‘No, I don’t think so.’ I thought so.”

Just last month, Backham revealed that he got the word “Posh” in cursive on the underside of his middle finger, right next to the finger he wears a gold wedding band in honor of his wife, Victoria Beckham.

“I just had ‘Posh’ done… all the tattoos I have are family,” he said Sun.

David, 48, also has a tattoo of “Victoria” on his arm as a tribute to his wife, plus the names of the four children he and the fashion designer share: Brooklyn, 24, Romeo, 21, Cruz, 18, and Harper, 12.

However, the eldest son of the couple Brooklyn Peltz Beckham (24) has by far the most tattoos, speaking USA Today in August 2022 that of his 100 tattoos, about 70 of them are for his wife Nicola Peltz Beckham.

Brooklyn’s tattoos for Nicola include the word “married” and his wedding vows on his body. The vows read in part: “Nicola when you walked down the aisle you took my breath away, you look so beautiful tonight and always.” He also got Nicola’s late grandmother’s name, “Gina,” tattooed on his arm in 2021 in honor of his wife’s 26th birthday.
