David Caprio is an American businessman, investor, lawyer, and politician. He is a member of the Democratic Party. He served as a member of the Rhode Island House of Representatives for District 47 (1999-2003) and District 34 (2003-2011). He is an attorney with the Caprio Law Firm, which he founded with his father, Frank Caprio. He is co-owner of Citylife Productions, the production company that produced the television show “Caught in Providence,” which featured Frank Caprio’s judicial work.

His resignation as chairman comes amid a state police investigation into a contract to operate concessions at Misquamicut Beach, Scarborough Beach and Roger Wheeler Beach. In 2017, he became co-owner of Citylife Productions, the production company that produced the television show “Caught in Providence,” which featured the judicial work of Frank Caprio. In an interview, he revealed that he earns $100,000 a year from his reality show. David also appeared on the show Cooking (At Home) with Caprio! With his father.
He runs the Caprio Law Firm with his father, Frank Caprio, and brother, Frank T. Caprio. In April 2022, he became Chairman of the Education Committee of the RI Office of the Commissioner of Higher Education.
