According to his family, the famous British actor David Warner died on Sunday, July 24, at the age of 80. Warner reportedly died at Denville Hall, a medical facility in Northwood, London. Many UK celebrities have died in hospital. In the statement sent by his family, they state:
“He will be greatly missed by us, his family and friends, and he will be remembered as a kind-hearted, kind and caring man, partner and parent, whose legacy of incredible work touched the lives of many over the years. We are devastated.”
Warner has over sixty years of experience as an actor in theater and TV/feature films, including roles such as Ed Dillinger/Sark/The Master Control Program in the 1982 Disney classic Tron. The 80-year-old was also known for his role as Spicer Lovejoy in Titanic in 1999. In 2018, Disney cast him as Admiral Boom in Mary Poppins Returns. The late actor is survived by his longtime girlfriend Lisa Bowerman and son Luke.

According to a statement released to the BBC by David Warner’s family, the late actor had been battling illness for some time. The actor was diagnosed with cancer eighteen months before his death, according to the press release.
According to a statement from David Warner’s family:
“He has accepted his diagnosis with his usual elegance and dignity over the past 18 months.”
Although the family did not reveal the type of cancer or its extent, it is believed to be advanced. According to a family statement, the 80-year-old Manchester man was diagnosed with a terminal condition in early January last year or late December 2020.

In addition to his most famous appearances in Tron and Titanic, some fans have praised his work in films such as 1966’s Morgan: A Case for the Cure and 1976’s horror masterpiece The Omen. Warner starred in a variety of horror roles, making him a well-known figure in the 1970s.
