  • In 2015, Dayalu and 18 others, including DMK MP Kanimozhi and former telecom minister A Raja, faced trial in an Enforcement Directorate (ED) case alleging illegal gratification of Rs 200 crore from Swan promoters through indirect means to Kalaignar TV. Her doctors said it was impossible for her to be involved in the money laundering case because she suffered from Alzheimer’s disease and had been in poor health for years. In 2017, a special CBI court acquitted all the accused and Dayalu in the money laundering case.
