While fans would no doubt love the idea of a Neville spin-off, there is still no need for one as Ralf has no plans to leave the show just yet. However, his departure is somewhat inevitable as the BBC program usually changes its main stars every few seasons.
Ralf discussed the idea of him leaving and who could replace him in the Q&A. “I don’t know, I have no idea. I won’t deviate from the answer to the question, but it’s quite clear that I don’t know.”

Ralf, along with the rest of the cast and crew, has been filming series 13 in Guadeloupe since the beginning of this summer and are due to finish production at the end of October.

“Riddles and mysteries and Neville who is a bit unhappy in most areas of his life, but when it comes to solving murders, he absolutely goes all out.”
He further added: “We’re going to try to continue the tone at the end of series 12. We’ve really tried to push the boat out with series 12 in terms of, not just solving mysteries every week and continuing, but over the course of the series, really trying to find challenges for the main characters, trying to find things which they will overcome emotionally.

“Neville faced his biggest challenge ever, he was sent to prison and he was set up. So last year we took a little step with it and it went really well and people really enjoyed it and I thought we did a really good series . So this year there will be more of that, more of a challenge for the characters.”
