Deepak Dobriyal is an Indian actor and theater artist who works primarily in the Hindi film industry. He is known for his comedic timing and impeccable dialogue delivery. He became popular for his role as Pappi in Tanu Weds Manu (2011). He reprized the role in the film’s sequel, Tanu Weds Manu Returns (2015), and received critical acclaim for both films.

Deepak Dobriyal was born on Monday, September 1, 1975, in Satpauli village, Pauri Garhwal, Uttarakhand (age 48; as of 2023). His zodiac sign is Virgo. He grew up in Delhi’s Katwaria Sarai, where his father moved in search of work. Deepak was five years old at the time. He studied at Government Boys High School, Begumpur, Delhi. He has loved acting since he was a child. He is also good at sports. During their school days, Deepak and his brother often played small roles in Ram Leela. Soon he joined a theater troupe, but his father was very conservative and did not allow him to pursue an acting career. When he was in Class 12, most of the boys in the class had already started working in high-paying jobs, and some were preparing to enter some good universities. He worked with Gaur’s Asmita troupe for about 6 years and later joined Pt. NK Sharma’s troupe. Under the direction of NK Sharma, Deepak acted in dramas like Aksar Maine Socha Hai, Hamaar Babuji Ki Chhatri and Aao Saathi Sapna Dekhen.

In 2006, he played the role of Rajju Tiwary in the Hindi crime drama Omkara. The film is adapted from William Shakespeare’s play “Othello”.
