Delhi Schools Closed News: The Delhi government has announced that all schools in the national capital have been advised to switch to online classes by November 10, 2023, except for classes 10 and 12. Delhi’s Environment Minister Gopal Rai on Monday announced that oddly enough, even the car rationing scheme will be implemented from November 13 in view of rising pollution levels in the national capital. The decision was taken at a high-level meeting held on Monday afternoon, chaired by Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal.

According to reports, the decision was taken as pollution may increase further after Diwali. The even-odd will come into effect the day after Diwali from November 13 to 20, 2023. After that, based on the pollution levels prevailing in Delhi, further decisions can be taken, Rai added while addressing a press conference after the meeting.

On Monday, the government also published an important announcement regarding schools. According to the new guidelines, classes for students of class 6 and above will be conducted in online mode, while classes for students of class 10 and 12 will be conducted offline.

Earlier, Delhi Education Minister Atishi announced that schools in Delhi will remain closed till November 10, 2023. This decision has been taken as the Air Quality Index (AQI) is declining in Delhi-NCR. Schools from grades 6 to 12 have the option to transition to online classes if they wish.

Noida schools are shifting to online mode

Due to increasing air pollution in the capital region, a number of schools have suspended outdoor activities and some have moved classes online due to concerns about the health of students amid deteriorating air quality.

According to reports, many schools in the Noida region have temporarily stopped or shifted outdoor activities like sports and morning assemblies indoors. Several schools have also decided to cancel events, such as the annual sports day and inter-school competitions scheduled for this week, after careful consideration of the dangerous haze prevailing in the region. Schools in the district have announced the transition to online classes, except for students in grades 11 and 12.
