Delta Air Lines Has Secret Trading Cards, Which Have Been Around for 2 Decades — Here’s How to Score One!

Delta Air Lines has exchange cards — which can be collected just as easily as frequent flyer points.

Last month, TikTok user @sarowarrr shared a video on the app, in which he could be seen asking a Delta pilot if he could get a trade-in card.

After the officer tells the man he doesn’t have them on him but would ask his first officer if he does, the pilot returns and hands the social media user a pair of shiny gold cards to exchange.

“Got my first exchange card!!! Ask your pilot for one before or after your flight!” @sarowarrr captioned his post, adding the hashtags: “#Delta,” “#TradingCards” and “#Collectibles.”

A Delta spokesperson told PEOPLE that the card exchange program was created by employees more than two decades ago to share their love of the airline and all things flying.

Each card, the spokesman says, depicts “a different aircraft [Delta’s] a fleet that matches the type of aircraft each pilot flies.”

Over the years there have been six Delta Trading Card collections, which have been redesigned every five years.

There are currently 11 ticket types in the collection, with designs created last year by Delta’s “Window Seat” visual design team.

American Airlines pilot goes viral for post reminding passengers not to be ‘selfish and rude’

“When they’re not busy preparing for a flight or transporting our customers to their next adventure, our pilots carrying these fan favorite cards will be more than happy to give one to any customer who asks nicely; if they want to add to or start their latest favorite collection,” says a spokesperson Delta in the statement.

TikToker @sarowarrr warned passengers, however, that Delta pilots don’t always have exchange cards with them. In the following video, one pilot told him he was out of tickets after five others made the same request over a two-day period.
