The emergency evacuation of the Delta plane shook the passengers in Atlanta.
The husband of one of the passengers on the flight from Atlanta to Minneapolis-St. On Friday, Jan. 10, Paul shared a video on Reddit of airplane evacuation clips being deployed as sparse snow piled up at Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport.
“They were speeding up during takeoff, and the plane slowed down,” the poster author’s wife told him about the harrowing incident. “They were told to duck and then they were told to evacuate, via the emergency slide.”
Video captured by Atlanta News First shows passengers going down set slides and escaping from the plane. Several passengers appeared panicked in the video as they tried to get as far away from the plane as possible.

Delta Airlines told PEOPLE in a statement that its flight crew had to “abort takeoff” of Flight 2668 after “indicating” an “engine problem,” though it did not elaborate on what may have caused the problem or its severity.
“Nothing is more important than the safety of our people and customers and we apologize to our customers for their experience,” the airlines said in a statement. “We are working to support our customers and get them to their destinations as safely and quickly as possible.”

Delta noted that there were 201 passengers and seven crew members on board, including two pilots and five flight attendants, when the Boeing 757-300 encountered a problem. Passengers were evacuated from the plane via a slide and transferred back to the terminal by ground transportation, the airline said.
Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport said in its own statement on X that the incident occurred around 9:10 a.m. and that four passengers reported minor injuries. One person was transported to the hospital for medical treatment, while three others were treated on the spot.

It also said the incident, along with “ongoing poor weather conditions”, had delayed operations at the airport, but at 10:35 it was announced that “the aircraft and runway are expected to be cleared shortly”.
The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) announced on its website that it was investigating the incident. It also ordered a ground stop for Delta flights to Atlanta, which was extended to 2 p.m
The Redditor who shared the first report also posted an update on his wife and other passengers on the flight, saying that after returning to the plane’s terminal, they were moved to “some kind of conference room” with “snacks and drinks and cots.” However, it is not clear whether passengers were immediately able to rebook a new flight.
