Demi Moore and Rob Lowe Reunite 38 Years After About Last Night — and Look Like They’ve Barely Aged a Day

Demi Moore and Rob Lowe were recently seen together on a night out – and they may have time-travelled straight from the ’80s.

The pair, who famously starred together in the 1986 rom-com Oh last nightthey reunited for a special screening of Moore’s film Substance in the Lumiere cinema in Beverly Hills, California on Saturday, December 14. Moore (62) wore a plain brown suit for the occasion, while Lowe (60) wore a black jacket, striped sweater and black jeans.

Moore shared photos from the event on her Instagram on Friday, December 20, amusingly referring to Oh last night.

“About last (Saturday) night with @roblowe 😉. 80’s reunion to wrap up 2024 — thank you Rob for featuring our @trythesubstance screening! Grateful for the past, present and what is yet to come ♥️,” Moore captioned her post.

Oh last night starred Moore and Lowe as Debbie Sullivan and Danny Martin, two 20-somethings in Chicago who fall in love and must navigate the ups and downs of their first real relationship. The film was praised for Moore’s and Lowe’s performances, as well as the script’s honest approach to the problems each character faced.

The film marked the second time Moore and Lowe appeared on screen together after starring in the 1985 classic St. Elmo’s fire. Moore played the party girl Jules, and Lowe played the charismatic but troubled Billy. The film cemented the pair as part of the famous “Brat Pack”, along with actors Emilio Estevez, Judd Nelson and Ally Sheedy.

Their time together sparked a true romance. Lowe recently revealed that he and Moore dated briefly early in their careers.

“I mean, Demi and I briefly – I don’t tell stories outside of school – briefly had a thing,” he said while appearing on Live! with Kelly and Mark in October, adding, “Look, whenever you put young men and women in their 20s together, relationships are inevitable.”

Lowe also made sure to clarify that his brief romance with Moore predated her engagement to Estevez. (The couple broke off their engagement in 1986.)

In the same interview, Lowe said that he thinks Oh last night to be his best work from the start of his career, noting, “Of all the things I did in the ’80s, if I had to pick one, it would definitely be Oh last night.”

For her part, Moore has looked back on the earlier periods of her career from a different perspective, recently talking about the strict beauty standards women faced in Hollywood in the ’80s and ’90s. In an interview with The Guardianpublished in September, the actress said that women are not considered attractive unless they are thin, and shared that she went to extremes to maintain a certain body type.

“What I did to myself. What I did means to me. “Looking at the actual violence, how violent we can be towards ourselves, how brutal,” she told the newspaper.

Her latest project, a body horror filmSubstanceexplores these themes and takes them to extremes. Moore plays an aging Hollywood actress who will go to any lengths to feel relevant in an ageist and sexist culture. Critics hailed her performance in the film as one of the best of her career.
