Demi Moore is shaping up to be the style star of the Cannes Film Festival.
On Monday, May 20, the 61-year-old actress walked the red carpet for the premiere of her horror film Substance in a stunning Schiaparelli Haute Couture gown with dramatic 3D detailing.
The star, who was styled by Brad Goreski, wowed in a champagne-colored satin ensemble, which featured a corset and a 3D peaked wing that jutted out from the left side of the bust. She accessorized the look with sparkling Chopard jewels, including a choker necklace and drop earrings. Her waist-length hair was styled in loose waves and she wore softly glamorous makeup.
Substancewhich is an official selection at the 77th annual Cannes Film Festival, also stars Dennis Quaid and Margaret Qualley.

Not much is known about the film’s plot, but the official Cannes website provides an ominous description of the film that reads: “Have you ever dreamed of a better version of yourself? You should try this new product: The Substance. It changed my life. With The Substance you can create another version of yourself, younger, more beautiful, more perfect… Just share the time. One week for one, one week for another. A perfect balance of seven days. Easy, right? If you follow the instructions, what could possibly go wrong?”

Moore kicked off her Cannes appearance on Friday, May 17 with the film’s premiere Kinds of kindness. The star looked radiant in a red Giorgio Armani Privé gown with beading and floral detailing. The floor-length column dress featured a v-neck detail and intricate beading, and she accented the look with striking Chopard earrings that matched the pattern of the dress.
The actress had another remarkable fashion moment earlier this month at the 2024 Met Gala in New York. At the event on Monday, May 6, Moore closed the red carpet in a black column dress by Harris Reed and diamond jewelry by Cartier. The dress featured a pink and white floral design and a spiky heart-shaped structural element.

Talking to Ashley Graham on Vogue on the red carpet, Moore said her dress “wasn’t heavy at all” and actually made her “want to rumba.” The designer, who walked the carpet with Moore, revealed that the star’s dress was made of wallpaper.
It all started with this amazing Cartier necklace that Demi is wearing, Reed told Graham. “It’s inspired by the floral feeling it gave me. The whole piece is made from vintage archival wallpaper. We changed it. It’s 11,000 hours of silk embroidery that we repurposed into this idea of her blooming on the carpet. I wanted to be the vine to her thorns.”
