Derek Hough is grateful to everyone who wished his wife Hayley Erbert a speedy recovery.
“Words cannot describe how thankful and appreciative we are for the support and love you have given us,” Dancing with the stars the judge, 38, wrote on Instagram on Friday.

Hough was always inspired by Erbert’s “strength and her resilience,” especially in the last 48 hours, he wrote. “She’s on a long road to recovery now,” he said, referring to her recent health crisis following a stop in Washington, DC on their Symphony of Dance tour.
The 29-year-old is recovering from an “emergency craniectomy.”

“The kindness shown to us during this incredibly unfathomable, life-changing time is immeasurable. The offers of help that have come in have been so humbling and appreciated,” Hough continued on Friday. “Hopefully as a family we can somehow and someway pay for it.”
Earlier in the day, the television personality’s sister, Julianne Hough, asked fans to keep Erbert up in prayer.
“Pray and send all your love, healing and light to Hayley and Derek 🙏,” Dancing with the stars the co-host, 35, wrote on her Instagram Story. “Thank you from the bottom of our family’s hearts!❤️”

Her announcement followed Hough’s initial announcement Thursday that Erbert was being treated for a cranial hematoma — a condition that occurs when blood builds up in the skull.
“At the end of last night’s tour in Washington, DC, my wife Hayley became disoriented and was taken to the hospital,” he wrote. “She was diagnosed with a cranial hematoma due to a ruptured blood vessel and required an emergency craniectomy. She is in a stable condition.”
“I want to thank the first responders and the medical staff who cared and continue to care for her. I am asking for your prayers and positivity during this time,” Hough added.

Former and current co-stars of the dance competition series, including Peta Murgatroyd, Jenna Johnson, Allison Holker and Candace Cameron Bure, offered their support in Hough’s Instagram comments section.
Jennifer Love Hewitt added: “I have not stopped praying and I will not stop. I’m so glad you have each other and beautiful families to help her and you. Sending you all healing and love ❤️.”
Hough and Erbert recently tied the knot in August after getting engaged last June.

The couple’s late summer wedding was held in Monterey County, California, in front of 106 guests.
“We’re in a redwood forest, but we got married right in front of this parent tree that’s surrounded by all these smaller trees,” Erbert told PEOPLE at the time. “They drop all the seeds, and it plants something like an army of children protecting the mother. The symbolism of that was beautiful. Here we are, planting our seeds to grow our family.”
