Thompkins played four seasons for the Utah Aggies, completing 40 passes for 536 yards and four touchdowns. He also signed as an undrafted free agent with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on May 1, 2022. Despite joining the Bay’s practice squad in 2022, he was promoted to the regular roster in December of that year. He is a wide receiver in the National Football League (NFL) for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Deven Thompkins is the devoted husband of Maria Castilhos. Nyomi Thompkins, the couple’s first child, was born in July 2018, just before Thompkins began his college career. Similarly, Messiah Thompkins, the couple’s second child, was born in September 2019. Thompkins finds a lot of herself in her oldest child, Nyoma, who is just five years old, and likes to call her her wild child. Thompkins sees her four-year-old son, Messiah, as a strong warrior, and her angel baby as a miracle. Messiah, who has Down syndrome, faces obstacles, but Thompkins points out that he will not give up.
Deven’s inspiring life as a student, father and wide receiver
Deven, a wide player who handled everything well, found it difficult to stay a student while taking care of his child. The Thompkins family lived together until the summer of his junior year when Maria briefly returned both children to Florida. When Deven needed to take care of Nyomi during their summer stay, he would bring her to his university and his instructors would hold Nyomi for him during lectures.
Maria went to California to study medicine, while Nyomi lived with her and Messiah lived with his father. Thompkins juggled parenting, soccer and a full-time academic schedule while only receiving tuition. When he was able to take all his classes online, he was able to stay home part of the day and look after his child. Furthermore, his teammates, particularly former Jefferson High wide receiver Justin McGriff, guarded him regularly.
In several sessions, Messiah would sleep or drink a bottle in the back of the room with his father, according to Cefalo. Remembering all time, Thompkins wants to be more than simply the greatest football player he can be; he also wants to be the best parent to his children.
