Profession
Devin started his professional cricket career in 2009 by joining the Gauteng Cricket Team. In August 2015, he was selected for the 2015 Africa T20 Cup. Devin performed very well in provincial competitions, and in 2017, Devin scored his first first-class double century for Gauteng. This was his first double century in eight years, but his performance in top-level cricket was not good. In the 12 games he played, he only had one half-century, with an average of 22. Devin knew that with this unsatisfactory performance, he would not be able to make the South African team. In 2017, Devin decided to move to Wellington, New Zealand with his fiancée Kim Watson to restart his cricket career. Devin joined the Victoria University Cricket Club as a player and coach. As a coach, he would travel around Wellington to train 10 and 11 year olds in schools. In 2018, Devin signed a contract with Wellington Cricket for the 2018-2019 New Zealand cricket season. In May 2020, it was announced that the 13-man Black Caps squad had new players shortlisted, and in November, selector Gavin Larson informed Devon that his name had been shortlisted for the New Zealand Cricket Squad. On 27 November 2020, Devon Conway made his first T20 international appearance for New Zealand against the West Indies.
