A fatal two-vehicle crash in Logan County on Monday left one person dead and another hospitalized, according to an official crash report. The incident occurred at approximately 6 a.m. in Richland Township, southeast of Lima, along the 9000 block of State Route 117. Deputies from the Logan County Sheriff’s Office responded quickly to deal with the crash. Dietrich Lyles, 18, a resident of Lima, was the driver of the 2010 Mercury Milan. Lyles was working in the southbound lanes of SR 117 when the sad incident occurred. It was a dangerous task to drive over the ice-covered bridge, and Lyles lost control of his car.

But tragedy struck when the Mercury entered the center lane and struck a 2021 GMC Sierra driven by a 40-year-old Bellefontaine resident.
