Profession
In February 2014, she started working as a social media manager at IMA in Amsterdam, Netherlands. In January 2015, she started working as a fashion influencer and launched her website DiipaKhosla.com. In an interview, when talking about her journey as a fashion influencer, she said,
It’s not easy. It’s only possible if you work hard and set clear goals. I would like to tell all young people. Be clear about your goals. Be clear enough to think: ‘I want to be in Times Square!’ How and when you want to achieve it is up to you, but be clear.”
In 2019, she founded the NGO Post For Change to promote women’s rights. In an interview, she talked about her NGO. She said,
Right now, I’m working on a programme to help 250,000 rural women get access to menstrual hygiene products. That’s the best part of what I do – I get to make an impact on the things that affect me the most. Over the years, I’ve been on the covers of international magazines, won influencer awards, addressed the UK House of Lords on Women’s Day, and been featured on billboards. But what really matters is the purpose this platform has given me. It’s allowed me to take all the hurt, all the experiences in my life, and put them to good use. It’s helped me build an armour that allows me to fight for those who can’t.”
She also added,
I knew I wanted to help people, so I chose human rights law. After I got my degree, I interned at an influencer agency in Europe, where I discovered the world of social media. At first, I worked on fashion blogs. I felt shy, but I pushed myself to step out of my comfort zone. Over the next few years, my account grew and I realized that my voice could reach thousands of people. So, I simultaneously created another page dedicated to women’s empowerment; it’s a cause close to my heart—I wanted to help women struggling with gender inequality and mental health issues.”
In 2021, she founded her own cosmetics line “Indē Wild” in Amsterdam.

Facts/Trivia
- During her school and college years, she faced huge criticism for her dark skin color. In an interview, speaking about facing racism and sexism, she said,
I’ve faced these issues my whole life. In 2016, a PR agency refused to allow me to attend a fashion show at London Fashion Week, while another white influencer with a smaller following was allowed. The only difference between us was the color of our skin! But I used this negativity as motivation to push myself harder. Every time I face sexism, I think: one day I’ll be your CEO, and then men will know what sexism is.”
She also said,
But when I came to the West, I started to realize that what made me unique was being different, and that my uniqueness was my identity, my culture, and my beautiful skin color. I started owning it and wearing my Indian features like a gold medal, and it gave me confidence. For example, I stopped wondering how I could sit in the front row at Milan Fashion Week and took on the challenge. Soon, not only was I sitting in the front row, I was also the muse for the same design brands that once had issues with my skin color.”
- Her parents supported her through every difficult moment of her life. In an interview, she said about her parents,
My parents are proud to see me do more than I could ever imagine. They were in the audience at my TED talk in Amritsar and they smiled as I spoke. Later, after taking selfies with the little girls, I asked my mom why she was smiling so much and she said, ‘You know that little girl who took a selfie with you? You were like that 10 years ago.’ It was so real.”

It’s all about having courage and asking questions. I didn’t always know what I was doing when I was running a business, but it’s all about owning it, taking risks, and not being afraid to fail. That’s something you should work on from the inside out.”

I love a little color on my cheeks and eyes, usually Nudestix. I also use a liquid highlighter on my cheeks and nose, a light layer of mascara, a nude lipstick, and an eyebrow pencil. Another great way to accessorize is to mix and match gold and silver jewelry, which I really love to do. ”

Becoming a mother doesn’t mean you’re now the subject of scrutiny from everyone and anyone. Whether it’s opinions shared by family, friends, or strangers, these judgements can still be unapologetic and weigh heavy on new or seasoned moms. It’s just a reminder that online celebrities are people too, with lives and feelings behind the screen.”
