In 2023, the actress was accused of damaging the official vehicle of Hyderabad Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Rahul Hegde. According to some reports, the actress rammed her car into the officer’s car, after which the officer’s driver lodged a Section 353 complaint at the Jubilee Hills police station against her and her friend David, who was sitting in the car with Dimple ) IPC Sections 341 (deterring public servant from discharge of duty by assault or criminal force), 341 (wrongful restraint) and 279 (reckless driving or riding on public roads). DCP Rahul Hegde claimed in an interview that the actress once blocked his path with her car. He also added that he asked her several times not to do this but the actress ignored him. Speaking about this in an interview, he said,
My driver parked his car in my parking lot at night. It was later discovered that the right side of my car was damaged. Sometimes, I have to perform urgent tasks. But they (the accusers) used to block the way of my car with their four-wheelers. I asked them several times to stay out of the way, but to no avail. They also frequently get into arguments with my staff, caretakers, and other residents. “
The actress alleged that the officer abused his power and made false accusations against her. She also filed a counterclaim against DCP. But the police reportedly did not register her complaint. Later, the actress posted a related tweet that read:
The use of power does not prevent any mistakes. Abuse of power does not cover up mistakes. #satyameva jayate. ”
