Dipali Das News

Dipali Das, a candidate for the Biju Janata Dal (BJD), defeated Tankadhar Tripathy, a candidate for the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), by a significant margin of 48,619 votes, securing the seat for the Jharsuguda Assembly constituency for the BJD. On Saturday, the Jharsuguda byelection results were made public.

Dipali Das, the daughter of former Odisha Health Minister Naba Das, received 1,07,003 votes overall, whereas Tankadhar Tripathy of the BJP received 58,384 votes. Tarun Pandey, a Congress contender, received 4473 votes.

The murder of Naba Das by a police officer in January 2023 forced the Jharsuguda bypoll. Dipali Das of BJD has been in the lead consistently since Round 1 of the counting.

She had a lead of 28, 170 votes by the end of Round 11 when the voting was over. By the end of the 13th round, Dipali had increased her advantage by 34295, and by the end of the 15th round, the lead had surpassed 40,000.

“I was able to win the election by a wide margin because of the support and blessings of the people. Soon, I’ll get to meet CM Naveen Patnaik. The promise I made to the people will be kept. My late father Naba Das’s dreams will also be realised, said Dipali Das.

Dipali claimed that she believed she would win the Jharsuguda by-election with a record margin. Prasanna Acharya, a senior BJD leader, stated that the results were predicted because people had already chosen to support Dipali Das of the BJD as their candidate. The Jharsuguda voters’ thoughtful decision and our employees’ efforts deserve praise.

Naveen Patnaik, the party’s head, is “without a doubt a popular leader, and everyone works under his instruction and direction,” according to Acharya. He claimed that this has become BJD’s catchphrase in this place.
