The DISCOUNT brand is set to disappear from the high street for good after being bought by Home Bargains.
The Quality Save brand will eventually be replaced by a new parent company.

The Quality Save brand should disappear from the high street
This means that some of the brand’s stores will have to close for renovations and rebranding.
TJ Morris, owner of Home Bargains, is currently unable to confirm exact dates for these changes “due to landlord negotiations”.
Shoppers mostly praised the small online discounter for its wide range of inventory and deep discounts.
Posting on social media, one fan recently said: “Always has a wide range of branded and cheap goods. Friendly staff and convenient parking.”
Another customer said: “Quality Save has many products at a lower price than other shops and supermarkets.
“It’s a great store good for Christmas, Easter, Mother’s and Father’s Day, summer and Halloween events.
“Amazing toys, food and drinks at a good price. Plus they have pet food,” said a third customer.
Quality Save was founded in 1974 by Bob Rudkin.
He started with a stall in a covered market in Walkden and a small shop in Farnworth.
The company then expanded and over time opened more outlets.
But in January, 21 Quality Save stores were sold to TJ Morris.
It was then announced that all stores would receive the new Home Bargains brand.
In August, TJ Morris confirmed that the Stalybridge, Atherton, Chorley and Darwen stores would not be taking part in the rebrand and would instead close for good.
The Quality Save store on Chapel Street in Chorley will be downing its shutters for the first time for the last time on Friday, October 6.
At the time, a spokesperson for TJ Morris said: “Home Bargains is delighted to welcome Quality Save to our family, we have been working on store details and investing in converting the stores to the Home Bargains brand, increasing sales and creating jobs.
“We have decided to close four small stores as part of our review but have guaranteed all colleagues roles in nearby Home Bargains stores.”
Two stores have already been converted into Home Bargains.
The chain currently operates the remaining 14 stores – 10 of which will eventually become Home Bargains in:
- Cheadle
- Chorlton
- Dewsbury
- Droylsden
- Hyde
- Middleton
- Prestwich
- Sale
- Stretford
- Widnes
Quality Save stores have a red and sky blue logo which often confuses customers who could easily confuse it with the Home Bargains logo.
It’s worth noting the ways you can save extra money at Home Bargains now that these stores are about to change.
How can I save money on Home Bargains?
Home Bargains has plenty of everyday household products at already low prices, but from time to time they’ll cut costs with special “star buys” and limited-time sales.
In addition, the store has its own range of products that look incredibly familiar to the competition’s more expensive options.
That means bagging the Home Bargains dupe is a good way to make your wallet happy too.
But remember that this is only a deal if you were planning to buy anyway.
You shouldn’t buy something just because it’s a bargain or on sale, otherwise you could end up going over budget.
We previously revealed four items you should always buy from Home Bargains – and two things you should leave on the shelf.
