Rescuers found an abandoned dog taking care of an orphaned kitten in a ravine. Animal control officer Anderson Michelle Smith received a call about an abandoned dog barking on Saturday, and went to the area to find the moving sight.
She finds a Shih Tzu dog guarding and raising an abandoned kitten at the foot of a steep bridge along a deep gorge.
The officer took the dogs and cats to the Anderson County PAWS to receive the proper care they needed. Officer Smith said this is an example of why he loves his job. They named the kitten Kate and the dog Goldie.
Then they posted a viral post about Goldie and Kate. The post has had more than 430,000 likes and 88,000 shares.
The post inspired many people to want to adopt 2 friendly animals, and they eventually found their way to the Harris couple’s home. Fortunately, they now have a beautiful forever home.
