Vivian Fernandes was born on 2 October 1990 (28 years old; as of 2018) in Andheri, Mumbai, Maharashtra, India. He grew up in a small house in J. B Nagar in Andheri, Mumbai. He was educated at St. John the Evangelist High School, Marol Andheri, Mumbai. He graduated from RD National College, Bombay. He has loved singing since he was a child. When he was in eleventh grade, he started writing rap songs. Inspired by famous rappers Eminem and 50 Cent, Vivian started rapping in English and later moved to Hindi rap. He once accompanied his mother to a church in Malol, where he practiced rap music in a quiet environment. Thereafter, he called himself “Holy.”

Vivian was born into a Christian family. His father was sexually abusive and abandoned the family when Vivian was a child. His mother moved to the Middle Eastern country of Arabic-speaking Qatar to make a living. Leaving her two children with their grandmother. Vivian has an older brother, Anthony Fernandez, who moved to Qatar to help his mother.

As a child, Vivian’s friends gave him a CD with songs by Eminem and 50 Cent. After listening to songs by Eminem and 50 Cent, Vivian was inspired to start writing rap songs. When she first debuted, it took Vivian more than 5 hours to write the perfect lyrics. He began his career as an independent artist. He filmed his first song “Come for You” on a Nokia N8 mobile phone. While in college, he was a member of Mumbai’s hip-hop group Mumbai’s Finest and trained under a rapper named Ace. In 2013, he became famous for his debut single “Yeh Mera Bombay”.
In 2013, his autobiographical rap song Jungli Sher was released under Sony Music India. The song covered around 40 locations in Mumbai and was shot using an iPhone.
In 2015, Divine collaborated with another rapper Naezy, calling the collaboration Divine and Naezy, and released the song “Mere Gully Mein” under Sony Music India, which became a huge success. It has been called the rap anthem of Mumbai.
In 2017, Divine teamed up with female rapper Raja Kumari to create an old-school hip-hop vibe for their song “City Slums.”
Deavan made his acting debut in the Bollywood film Mukkabaaz. He performed the song “Paintra” with rapper Nucleya.
