Divya Mittal passed the civil services examination in 2013 and became an IAS officer of Uttar Pradesh cadre. Soon after completing her training at Lal Bahadur Shastri National Administrative Institute, Mussoorie, Divya started serving as sub-divisional judge in Siduri, Sitapur.
She served there from September 2014 to June 2015. On August 31, 2015, Divya participated in a 3-month central delegation as Assistant Secretary, NITI Aayog, Government of India, New Delhi. Divya served as Meerut Divisional Magistrate from December 2015 to May 2017.
Thereafter, she served as Chief Development Officer, Gonda District for about one year and nine months. Mittal served as Joint Managing Director, Uttar Pradesh Industrial Development Authority, Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh from April 2018 to February 2019. On February 20, 2019, Divya was appointed as the Vice Chairman of Bareilly Development Authority. Divya served as district magistrate-cum-collector of Sant Kabir Nagar, Khalilabad, Uttar Pradesh for about two years and was later appointed as district magistrate-cum-collector of Mirzapur.
