He started shooting training at the age of 12 at the Jangpura shooting range in Jaipur, Rajasthan. Initially, he started shooting with pistols, but later he found rifle shooting more interesting and switched to rifle shooting. In 2017, his father was worried that he was addicted to the virtual game PUBG, so he signed up Divyansh and Anjali (Divyansh’s sister) to the Dr. Karni Singh shooting range in New Delhi, where he started shooting under the guidance of Indian shooter Deepak Training Kumar Dubey. In 2019, he made his senior shooting debut at the ISSF World Cup in Delhi. Divyansh was promoted from the development group to the core group of the Target Olympic Podium Scheme (TOPS) in 2019 due to his outstanding performance in various shooting competitions.

When he was a kid, I would draw targets on the walls of our house and they would shoot them with plastic guns. That same year, Divyansh won a state medal and his interest in the sport grew.
