He was treated at a nearby hospital in Kuppam before being referred to a hospital in Bangalore with a focus on cardiac care the next day. Two days before his death, he was receiving treatment from US cardiac doctors, including balloon angioplasty, intra-aortic balloon pumps, vasoactive support and other state-of-the-art cardiac services. Ratna passed away on February 18, 2023 in Bangalore while receiving medical care at the age of 39.
