Dog Will Only Eat After Getting a Kiss on the Forehead — Watch!

The Badger dog has developed a gentle mealtime ritual.

The rescue dog, a mixture of Chihuahua, Wiener dog and bully, will not eat until he is kissed on the forehead. A compilation of videos showing the sweet gesture by Sagar Jha, the sibling of one of Badger’s owners, has over a million views on TikTok.

In each clip, the puppy patiently waits for Jha to peck him before eating his food.

“Pov: The dog you’re sitting on only eats when he gets a kiss on the forehead,” reads the text on the video.

Jha, who lives with Badger’s owners and watched him while they were away, told Storyful: “When they got Badger, he sometimes had a hard time with people and strangers coming into his personal space and getting close to his face, so to make it go away, his owners taught him to sit, wait, and get a kiss on the forehead before eating his dinner.”

Jha noted that the dog had previously “freaked out” when Jha got too close to its face, so it seemed as if the Badger was “simultaneously apologizing and trying to build trust”.

“I decided to surprise his owners when they come back… and make a little montage of his kisses so they can see he’s a good boy,” Jha added.

Zoey, a 14-year-old goldendoodle, took TikTok by storm in January when her owners posted a video showing that she would only eat her snacks after waving a (sealed) bottle of ranch dressing over her pelvis.

And in another video recently shared on a social media platform, a silver Weimaraner named Bleu refuses to eat dog food until its owners pretend to use “gourmet” cooking techniques on it.
