Donatella Versace handled the recent emergency like the total icon that she is.
On March 9, TMZ reported that the Italian fashion designer ended up stuck in an elevator for nearly 15 minutes before co-hosting an event with Dwyane Wade at the LGBT Center in Los Angeles.
According to media reports, Versace, 68, was with her publicist, assistant, security and head of Versace’s public relations when the incident occurred.
In the video obtained by TMZ, at least four people are seen trying to open the trapped door from the outside. Versace and her crew are finally able to escape through a small slanted opening between the elevator frame and what appears to be a sliding door.

TMZ also shared that firefighters arrived to inspect the elevator shortly after.

Meanwhile, Versace continued her celebratory evening as she was named the organization’s global ambassador and donated $50,000 to the Los Angeles LGBT Center. She even joked about the accident while giving a speech on stage.
“I feel so honored to be here tonight. It’s so emotional for me – but also because I’m stuck in an elevator. I thought I’d never make it to this roof, but I did!” she joked.
