Donovan McNabb, born Donovan Jamal McNabb, is a former American football player. He used to be a quarterback. He was a member of the National Football League (NFL) for 13 seasons, mostly with the “Philadelphia Eagles”.

Biography of Donovan Mcnabb
Donovan McNabb was born in Chicago, Illinois on November 25, 1976. He graduated from Mount Carmel High School. He played with two future NFL players, Matt Cushing and Simeon Rice, during his second year there. Several colleges offered him admission after graduation.
He eventually decided to attend Syracuse University and play for the Orange Group’s varsity football team. This university was chosen because of its great interest in football, as well as the broadcast journalism program it offers.
In 2002, the university appointed him as one of the youngest board trustees. Donovan also played basketball at Syracuse and was a member of the NCAA Men’s Division I Basketball Tournament in 1996. In April 2014, he was sentenced to one day in jail in Arizona for DUI.
On June 28, 2015, he was arrested again in Arizona for driving under the influence and causing an accident. This time he was sentenced to 90 days (18 in prison and under house arrest). He was also fined $6,000 and served 30 hours of community service.

Career
The Eagles selected Donovan Mcnabb in the first round of the 1999 NFL draft. He was the second of the five guards recruited. On November 14, 1999, he made his professional debut against “Washington” at home. He hauled in 21 passes for 60 yards and led his team to a 35-28 victory. With this win, he became the third Eagles rookie quarterback to earn his first NFL start, joining Mike Boryla and Ty Detmer. He was also the second debutant among the “Eagles” who started at the position of guard, after Brad Goebel.
Donovan was selected as a first alternate to the 2000 NFC Pro Bowl team behind Daunte Culpepper, Jeff Garcia and Kurt Warner. When Warner was forced to leave the game due to injury, Donovan stepped in and played admirably. He broke his right ankle against the Arizona Cardinals in Week 11 of the 2002 season. He led his team to the 2003 NFC Championship.
Donovan’s injuries in 2005-2007. they were especially disturbing for him. On October 26, 2009, he led his team to another victory over the Washington Redskins. Donovan was acquired by the Washington Redskins on April 4, 2010, and by the Minnesota Vikings on July 27, 2011. Donovan announced his retirement from football on July 29, 2013.
