Doug was one of the earliest Nicktoons titles, premiering in August 1991. The animated series followed Douglas Yancey Funnie, who lived in the fictional town of Bluffington with his parents, Phil and Theda, and his sister, Judy. The show also featured Doug’s friends – Skeeter, Patti and Beebe – and Quailman, his superhero-like alter ego.
Other shows that are no longer available on the streaming channel include: blue room, puppet series that was a spin-off Blue’s tracks, and Big crowdwhich followed four best friends as they changed their typical high school life to go into pop music in Los Angeles as a boy band.

Social media users were quick to criticize the streamer for removing the title.
“One of the 3 original Nicktoons. Yikes. I’ll cherish my physical media forever,” one Reddit user wrote, alluding to Doug was one of the three original Nicktoons, along with Rugrati and The Ren & Stimpy Show.
“Of all the shows, you’re going to take down the VERY FIRST Nicktoon?” another person wrote on Reddit. “I actually recently watched the entire Nick series of Doug using Paramount Plus. Good thing I finished in time.”
He added another: “Doug didn’t deserve this.”
Representatives for Paramount+ have not yet responded to PEOPLE’s request for comment.
