dr. Preethi KMC medical student charged with death
On Friday 24 February 2023, Telangana Police arrested the defendant in the suicide and death of Dr. D. Preethi, Dr. MA Saif, a second year medical student at Kakatiya Medical College, Warangal.
He was arrested in connection with the suicide attempt of Dr. Preeth, who was a college student from Saif.
Early on February 22, 2023, Wednesday morning, Preethi was found unconscious in the staff room at MGM Hospital while on duty.
Dr. Preethi is said to have attempted suicide by injecting anesthetics because of Dr. MA Saif, who is accused of mistreating her and forcing her to try to end his life.
According to the sources, the incident took place and the police arrested the defendant on Friday.
The police cited laws relating to torture and the SC/ST (Prevention of Atrocities) Act in bringing charges of complicity in suicide against the defendant.
The police are still waiting for the results of the drug test for final confirmation.
