A statement from a Dudley Zoo spokesperson said: “We have some news to share with our male giraffe, Kubwa, who sadly passed away yesterday. After consulting with the zoo’s veterinary team, the decision was made to euthanize the 22-year-old after his health deteriorated following treatment for a long-term condition. He had been at DZC for 13 years and was one of the oldest male giraffes in the British Zoo’s collection.
