DWTS’ Artem Chigvintsev arrested for ‘domestic battery’ in Napa after ‘paramedics were called’ – but later canceled

ARTEM Chigvintsev, a professional dancer and husband of former WWE star Nikki Bella, has been arrested for domestic violence, the US’s The Sun has confirmed.

Chigvintsev, a student of Dancing with the Stars and Strictly Come Dancing, was arrested in Napa County, California shortly after 911 was called – and later recalled.

The award-winning professional dancer and native Russian was booked Thursday on a domestic battery charge, according to TMZ.

Details of his arrest were not immediately released.

The victim has not been named.

According to the outlet, the 9-1-1 call was made around 8:30 a.m. PT to report a “medical emergency” at the home.

It is not yet clear who made the call, however, as paramedics and firefighters were en route, the medical claim was cancelled.

The insider claimed that paramedics and fire never made it to the home because they were told to return to their positions, and the reason for the call and cancellation is unknown.

Chigvintsev, 42, is a well-known celebrity dancer who first appeared on Dancing with the Stars during season 18.

The professional dancer made several guest appearances on the hit ABC show, appearing in 12 seasons.

He was the first dancer to win two versions of the show, Dancing with the Stars in the United States and Strictly Come Dancing in the United Kingdom.

Chigvintsev won the BBC competition in 2010 with celebrity partner Kara Tointon.

The Russian dancer joined Strictly during the eighth series in 2010 when he was partnered with former EastEnders actress Tointon, a relationship that blossomed into a real romance for several years.

Chigvintsev also reached the semi-finals of the show in 2011, partnering actress Holly Valance, before teaming up with TV veteran Fern Britton for the 2012 series.

He was last partnered with Coronation Street star Natalie Gumede in 2013, with the pair securing second place.

DWTS MOVE

Chigvintsev later moved on to the American version of Strictly, Dancing With The Stars.

He recently appeared on season 23 of DWTS and was paired with The Bachelorette star Charity Lawson.

During the 25th season of the competition show, he met his wife Nicole Garcia – a former WWE Superstar and Hall of Famer who performed under Nikki Bella.

At the time, Garcia initially confirmed she had slept with Chigvintseva, insisting they were in an open relationship.

However, the couple soon turned their casual relationship into something real – and Chigvintsev proposed in November 2019.

Chigvintsev then announced the engagement in a social media post, alongside a romantic picture of him and Garcia, captioning it: “You’re the best thing that’s ever happened to me.

“I’m so excited for what’s to come, I love you more than anything and thank you for saying Yes.”

At the time, Garcia wrote: “Excited for 2020 and the next decade with you @theartemc. I said yes in France in November!

“We’ve been trying to keep it a secret, but we really wanted to share our excitement for the New Year!”

PARISIAN WEDDING

The couple married in a ceremony in Paris on August 26, 2022.

Garcia released a four-part special in January 2023 that follows the couple through the wedding planning process.

The couple welcomed a son, Matteo Artemovich Chigvintsev, in July 2020.

Garcia and Chigvintsev previously told People that they were hesitant to bring their son into the spotlight.

“We’ve always been very protective of — we don’t want Matteo to grow up on reality TV,” Garcia told the magazine last year.

The former WWE star told the magazine that she wants her son to decide whether he wants to be on television in the future.

“Even though he is in moments, we didn’t let him shoot much. Even in the series, we are very protective about it,” she added.

“I definitely think there are other parts of Artem and me that we could [explore].”
