Dwyane Wade Celebrates His Birthday with Help from Wife Gabrielle Union and Daughter Kaavia: ‘Year 42’

Dwyane Wade’s 42nd birthday party was a blast for his family!

On Friday, Gabrielle Union shared scenes from her husband’s big day, as he celebrated another year earlier this week.

On Instagram, the actress (51) posted footage of the NBA great blowing out candles and dancing with their youngest daughter, Kaavija. The 5-year-old also serenaded him while surrounded by loved ones, Miami friends and former teammates.

Among the adorable moments was a clip of Kaavia giving it her all on the microphone, as she sang a heartwarming rendition of “Happy Birthday” for her dad. At the end of the video, Wade bent down to kiss his little one as the whole party clapped.

“We are so blessed to spend year after year with you 🎂 @dwyanewade,” Union wrote in the caption.

The family were dressed-down but cute and coordinated during the birthday outing, with Wade and his wife wearing matching tan coats while Kaavia sported a star-patterned pullover.

Others present at the celebration were Wade’s eldest son Zaire (21) and Wade’s sister Tragil Wade. Close friends from Miami like Rick Ross and former Heat teammate Udonis Haslem were also there to celebrate, according to an Instagram posted by Wade himself.

“Celebrated my Jackie Robinson year in Miami with family and friends! Year 42,” he wrote.

Elsewhere on his Instagram Story, the retired basketball player shared footage of Haslem giving a speech — as the longtime teammate was in town to have his jersey retired by the Miami Heat organization this week.

“He hasn’t wasted a single second since he was 42 [years]” Haslem said of Wade while speaking at the party. “And that inspires me. I know I’m older and you’re younger, but you inspire me, bro. You didn’t waste a second. You showed me what it means to be the best version of you. You showed me what it means to believe in yourself. You always believed in yourself and I thought you were fucking crazy.”

Wade also shared a cute picture of himself with Kaavia and Union on his Instagram Story.

“Find yourself a daddy who stops and brings you ice cream at 2am,” he joked alongside a video of his little girl buzzing around eating her dessert, seemingly after the celebration.

Wade is also father to two children with ex-wife Siovaughn Funches – Zaire, 21, and Zay, 16 – and shares son Xavier, 10, with Aja Metoyer. He is also the legal guardian of his nephew, Dahveon Morris, 21.
