Dwyane Wade Dances with Daughter Kaavia in Adorable Video: ‘When Dad is Responsible for Morning Routine’

Dwyane Wade puts on his dancing shoes for daughter Kaavia James.

On Friday, the NBA legend, 41, shared a snap of him and his four-year-old hanging out in what appeared to be their kitchen while listening to Jack Black’s “Peaches” from Movie Super Mario Bros.

In the first of two Instagram Story clips, Wade played the song on his phone while dancing side to side while his daughter did a sweet pirouette. The former basketball player also performed some emotional hand movements with Kaavia as they sang and danced to the song together.

Getting into the spirit of the fun morning, Wade held his phone up to the camera at various points between dancing to help the song be heard more clearly, prompting laughter from the person behind the camera. Meanwhile, adventurous Kaavia even stood up between two sofas during the song as part of an elaborate dance move, while her father looked on with a smile.

“When dad is responsible for the morning routine before school,” Wade jokingly captioned the clip.

Following his daughter’s example, he captioned the video “Peaches!!!!!!!!!!!”

The adorable father-daughter morning came days after Wade, his wife Gabrielle Union and Kaavia stepped out for a Halloween party in colorful costumes. Union and Wade dressed in a peanut butter and jelly sandwich. Between them, Kaavia posed in a glowing blue princess costume – similar to Cinderella – with her arms crossed.

“Our princess every day of the year 💜,” the couple captioned their joint post.

The father-daughter duo has danced together many times in the past. The retired NBA player reflected on his induction into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame over the summer in an Instagram post in October, sharing a moment of the pair sharing a quick mirror dance.

In his Hall of Fame acceptance speech in August, Wade thanked his family “for being there for me and loving me in the most perfect way possible.”

“Thank you for making sure our kids feel seen, heard and protected when I’m gone. Thank you for learning the names of every ref in the NBA and screaming at them so I didn’t have to – saved me a lot of good money” , joked the athlete.

“I know I’m traveling for work this year during our anniversary, so I want to say, thank you for being on this journey for me – with me, these past 15 years. Thank you for learning to love your imperfections, just as much as we’ve enjoyed and loved moments of perfection. I love you.”
